We love when a sorority coordinates their Bid Day theme with their organization’s colors. Kappa Alpha Theta happens to have some pretty classic and forever chic colors to work with. This next Bid Day theme was all about the Black and Gold!

Hannah was the Chief Recruiting Officer for her chapter’s Fall 2018 Bid Day. The theme for their Bid Day was “We Struck Gold” which looked amazing and was perfect for a Kappa Alpha Theta Bid Day.

Hannah shared about how they achieved the look of their theme. They had a black & gold banner with “Theta” in big white script lettering. Their shirts were white and black with an awesome gold metallic design. And there was no shortage of gold glitter; it was everywhere… for anyone who wanted it! Balloons were also filled with gold glitter. And their large Kappa Alpha Theta letters were painted perfectly with black, white, and gold to match their theme.

Suggestions from Hannah for Bid Day planning:

  • Use glitter wherever you can- the point is for everything to be glittery
  • Stick to a few colors only to keep the theme consistent
  • Give members the freedom to accessorize and embrace the theme how they want (in terms of gold accents).

My favorite tip from Hannah was when she discussed how themes and colors are great for coordination, but it’s also important for members to show their personal style as well!
