Kappa Delta at Ball State University
Lily shared about her chapter’s Pop Art Bid Day which was spearheaded by Sarah, Vice President Member Education at the time.
They had Bid Day Bid Day shirts designed by one of their very own sisters and printed by the Kappa Delta Boutique. They had tons of glitter and temporary tattoos available to accessorize with. But what really made their Bid Day look POP, was all of the creativity each sister demonstrated with various accessories, facepaint, and complementary clothing items.
They had bright comic book sticker name tags for current members and large text bubble style name tags for new members. They painted and purchased various banners to really set the stage and make their new members feel special! Their large Pop Art ΚΔ letters were also a really nice addition to the theme and perfect for photos!
Some suggestions that Lily shared about Bid Day planning:
- Let the chapter help you make as many choices as you can! While the New Member Educator is responsible for picking the theme, it’s the chapter’s Did Day!
- Encourage members to let their styles and personalities shine! Being uniform is great but that’s why you have a theme. Allowing members to work within the theme but put their own spin on it works best!
- Chapter-made decorations work just as well, if not better than store bought decorations. They make your Bid Day unique and special and go above and beyond with originality and creativity.
